Currently, the Government Policy Research Center focuses on five areas: budget and tax; education; energy; health care; and technology. The GPRC does not conduct research in these areas on a contract basis. Instead, the members of the College of Fellows conduct research for the GPRC through contributions and subscriptions provided to the Public Policy Foundation of West Virginia.
